The PTLLS award meets the minimum standard for all those entering a teaching or training role in the lifelong learning sector. Successfully completing this award will equip candidates with the knowledge and skills required to develop and deliver training programmes in post-16 and adult education
This course is delivered by e-learning with specific assignment preparation tasks included
A course that focuses on the roles, responsibilities and boundaries in relation to teaching, including legislation, inclusivity, assessment methods and record keeping
Understand your own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within a specialist area
Demonstrate your session planning skills – plan, deliver, observe and evaluate a micro-teaching session
Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions that motivate learners
Understand the use of different assessment methods
Understand and analyse the need for accurate record keeping and procedures that can be adopted – including internal and external assessment information
How is it assessed?
This part of the course focuses on assignments 2 and 3. Assignment 1 is covered in the 3 day TSP course. To gain the PTLLS qualification you must pass all three assignments:
Microteach (see TSP)
A written submission on the role and responsibilities of teachers
A reflective review and extended session plan
