Many of our courses can be adapted for in-house delivery and can be specifically tailored to meet individual needs.

Sometimes due to reasons beyond our control a course has to be cancelled or postponed.  We will advise nominating officers and applicants immediately of such a decision.  Please note in exceptional circumstances we may have to make changes at short notice to the content (to reflect changes in legislation, current thinking or topical issues), timing, speakers and/or venue.

Facilitation Skills  (EDI Level 2 Award)

Course Duration:

3 days attendance + preparation towards the assessed assignment

Venue:

Dennett House, 11 Middle Street, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 1SH – this course can also be delivered on an in-house basis

Description:

A 3 day programme for those who need to facilitate groups to guide discussion, gather views and solve problems

Please note:  this is not a residential course and accommodation is not included

Day 1:  8 October 2013
Day 2:  15 October 2013
Day 3:  22 October 2013

Aim:

To develop confidence, knowledge and skills to effectively fulfil the role of a facilitator.   This is a practical workshop, designed to equip you with a good understanding of the roles and skills required for effective facilitation

Content:

  • Guiding principles of facilitation – role, right attitude, right opportunity
  • Skills and techniques
  • Dealing with problem people
  • Facilitating large groups – tips and techniques
  • Action Plan - for trying out the newly learnt skills in the workplace

How is it assessed?

Assessment will take the form of a 15 minute practical activity designed to assess your competence in facilitating and leading a group discussion.You will also be provided with a series of questions to answer in written format to check your understanding of the facilitation process.
