4. Local Improvement Adviser support
The LIA programme has been paused and is currently under review. For further information, please contact Laura Mansell on 01823 425206.
The Local Improvement Adviser (LIA) programme is a £3 million fund from the Department for Communities and Local Government managed regionally by Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnerships.
Local Improvement Advisers (LIAs) provide free expert support to partnership working. LIAs are available to provide advice, coaching, training and mentoring to partnerships to help them to deliver public services through the new performance framework and LAA/MAAs. Support is provided in days, which means there are no complicated financial transactions or costly recruitment processes involved. This can also enable support to be made available to the partnership in a matter of weeks.
LIAs can provide support across the following core partnership service delivery areas and cross cutting themes:
Service Areas:
- Stronger Communities
- Safer Communities
- Children and Younger People
- Adult Health and Wellbeing
- Tackling Exclusion and Promoting Equality
- Local Economy and Worklessness
- Housing and Planning
- Climate Change and Environmental Leadership
- New Deal for Communities Programmes (Bristol and Plymouth)
Cross-Cutting Themes:
- Leadership and Partnership Development
- Performance Management
- Building Analytical Capacity
- Digital Inclusion
- Data Sharing
- Service Transformation Methodologies (e.g. Systems Thinking)
- Support for Improved Public Services at the Local Level.
- Financial Management
two additional cross cutting themes have recently been added:
- Future Jobs Fund (FJF)
- Connecting Communities
