Promoting Equality and Tackling Exclusion
The Promoting Equality and Tackling Exclusion programme supported councils in the South West to reach the achieving level of the Equality Framework for Local Government (EFLG). 18 authorities have been supported to reach the ‘achieving’ level of the Equality Standard for Local Government with many more on track to reach this level shortly. The programme supported councils to improve their performance through a comprehensive package of support including tailored advice on equality impact assessments, support on integrating equality and social inclusion into service planning, senior leadership team and Member workshops and expert support prior to a council’s official assessment against the EFLG through a mock assessment.
