A qualification programme designed to provide practising managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches or mentors and for those seeking to move into a development role within their organisations.
Supervision is an essential part of the ILM qualification and each participant is allocated 3 hours with a Supervisor to be used proactively and periodically in line with individual needs and in agreement with the Supervisor. Supervision can take the form of one to one meetings (if you travel to your Supervisor), telephone conversations, email or Skype interaction. You need to demonstrate in your assignments that this has been completed and be able to meet the assessment criteria relating to supervision.
- Principles of Coaching
- Coaching in Practice
- Review & Reflection
- Organisational Context
How is it assessed?
There are three assignments:
Assignment 1 is a written submission that enables you to demonstrate your understanding of the context, including the individual and organisational benefits, of coaching and mentoring
Assignment 2 is a record of 18 hours of coaching practice you have undertaken during the programme
Assignment 3 is a personal review of your ability to perform effectively as performance as a coach or mentor within an organisational context
