Regional Transport Board Members and Papers

A Regional Transport Board (RTB) was established in 2007, taking over the transport function of the Regional Spatial Planning and Transport Group. The Planning function is now undertaken by the Regional Planning Group.

The RTB's role is to oversee the delivery of transport in the region. This includes developing and keeping under review the Regional Transport Strategy (RTS) as part of the Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS). The Group leads advocacy and lobbying activity on transport issues with Government and delivery bodies. It advises on transport policy and prioritisation including oversight of programme management for major transport schemes as part of the Regional Funding Allocation (RFA) process.

It also advises the Executive on priorities to ensure integration between transport and other strategies including the Assembly’s work on climate change.

The Group currently consists of 14 Assembly Members, and representatives from the Regional Development Agency and Government Office South West.

Presentations given to the Regional Transport Board are available to download below.
